Works great--if you keep it simple I'm very happy with this device. It works perfectly. But getting it up and running was not a cake walk.The problem with this tracker is that it has a lot of features and each one has its own wire. So, what I did is I took a pair of scissors and I cut off all the wires for all the features I didn't plan to use. That left just two wires--the ones that connect to the battery. If you keep it simple, it works great. If you want to try out all the features, you better be another Steve...
ReplyDeleteForget Lojack! GPS is the way to go! It either works or it doesnt, and this little gadget does exactly what I was looking for. The sim feature is excellent. Buy a $10 prepaid card from Tmobile. SMS messages are cheap so the card is excellent for this application. The prepaid minutes do expire after 90 days so you will need to buy a new prepaid card every 3 months. This GPS is well worth it as you do not have to pay a monthly fee to use the service. ReplyDeleteTested before installation in my car I put a T-Mobile pre paid SIM and powered up without even connecting to a 12v source. The Red LED started blinking and after about 3 min it started alternating between green and red (not sure what this means). I sent the SMS text message: begin123456. It sent back: begin ok!.I changed the password and setup the admin phone number via SMS. I called it and it responded with lat and long numbers. I opened it in chrome and it was accurate.
